Government agencies are increasingly required to share their data in open, machine readable formats. As the OpenStreetMap community, we would prefer their data be as openly licensed as possible so that it can be used to improve OSM.
This talk will share experiences as well as plans for making it easier for government data providers to share their data under structured open license so that it is easier to find and incorporate truly open data into OpenStreetMap. Additionally we’ll discuss some of the work to provide OpenStreetMap high quality data to cities to improve their own data.
